Carriere Freres

The story of Carrière Frères naturally follows that of the Royal Wax Manufacture, known today as Cire Trudon. In 1884, the Carrière brothers decided to buy the manufacturer: passionate about historical savoir-faire, they had in mind to modernize it. Respectful of traditions, they first embrace the century-old heritage of master candle makers established in the 17th and 18th centuries. Then, eager to innovate, they created Carrière Frères in 1889: under this new entity, their curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit will thrive. At the end of the 18th century, the Industrial Revolution is well under way, and the brothers managed to keep candle use alive and creative. Ingeniously, they extend their religious use to include candles as decorative objects. As early as 1889, the brothers were awarded a golden medal at the Universal Exhibition for their vision and craft. Manufactured in the Cire Trudon factory, the Carrière Frères line has since been at the crossroads when it comes to respecting ancient savoir-faire, embracing modernity and building a legacy.
